February 2013

February had some very fun days in it.  J had her 100th day of school, we celebrated Valentine's day, and our car turned over 100,000 miles.

J had to make a project with 100 things and she chose to make a book.  She gets these crazy ideas and then expects me to help out like I always do!!  It was my idea to make the little 100 day hat headband.
Valentine's day started off with a party at J's school.  Mak was able to go as well and Loves to be in school with J.  J made this super cute Valentine's box for all her little Valentine's from school.  We finally just trashed the rest of the candy that she didn't eat and that MaK somehow never found!!

Mak was super excited to have the "Bubbles glass" like everyone else.

I totally missed the moment when it turned over and didn't realize it until 10 miles later.  Oh well close enough.

Crazy amount of snow...

This year we seemed to get a crazy amount of snow, and let's not forget the freezing rain.  It was so bad in fact, that J actually had a snow day from school and I guess that hasn't happened in years.  Where I grew up, we got any snow and school was cancelled.  It was great!!  But in Utah, that just doesn't happen.  The girls loved being able to play in the snow and we made little trails throughout our front yard.  MaK loved it until she fell in the snow face first.  From then on, she stayed on the sidewalk and steps most of the time until the trails were made.

Happy New Year 2013

Let's just say on New Year's Eve, we learned a super valuable lesson about the personality of our girls.  We spent New Year's at Daddy's parents house.  We brought the nammers for the girls, mostly thinking that on the way home they would fall asleep.  Well around 9:15pm, J went downhill fast.  She was asleep before 9:30 and would not wake up for the turning over of the year moment.  Now MaK on the other hand was going strong even after we drove home.  She is full of life, and would stay up all night if we didn't force her to go to bed every night!!  She hits the floor running in the morning and does not stop until she is forced to.  J is much more of a slow get going when I'm ready kind of person.  She likes to wake up on her own, she likes to go to bed a decent time, but her brain is constantly learning and growing and plotting when she is awake.  It is fun to see how much they are alike but oh so different as well!!

Christmas 2012

Christmas was a lot of fun for us this year-well at least before Christmas was.  We saw Santa Many times yet again, J had some fun activities at school that we were thrilled to be involved in, of course we had our Christmas Eve traditions and then did our little families Christmas morning stuff then went to Daddy's parents for the rest of the day.  The girls of course were spoiled but they are at such a great age and they are super cute so it's hard not to spoil them!!
After Christmas-like Christmas evening, the not so fun part of Christmas break started.  The dreaded flu came to visit and for the majority of Christmas break, we were sick.  Even Daddy caught it this year, and he never gets sick!!

Thanksgiving 2012

We went on a little Road Trip to Arizona for Thanksgiving this year.  Both on the way down and the way home, we broke up the long drive by staying at our Favorite Hotel in St. George.  The girls did so well driving, and we had a great time!!  Besides hanging out with family for a week, some of our highlights were golfing at the most beautiful course ever, caught a couple of nephews basketball games, ate some delicious food, made a super cool gift for Grammy and Grandpa and enjoyed the Arizona Sun.  We spent about 10 days down there!!

Halloween 2012

Halloween 2012
We did most of our traditions except one-we didn't go on the Pumpkin walk.  Brady was in Louisville the week they did that and I wasn't to excited about taking the girls alone.  We went to the Pumpkin Ride at Daddy's work, painted pumpkins instead of carving them this year, had J's Halloween Costume Parade at her school and went Trick-or-Treating.  It was fun and the weather was GREAT!!!

The Home

On June 19, 2012 we signed papers for our very first home.  It's nothing amazing but we love it and while it's been a LOT of work, with many more to come, we are enjoying more space and being able to do with it what we want!!  We did a lot of work with the help of our family the week before we moved in, and already it looks so different!!  Now if I can just get my dang cupboard doors done before we hit the year mark!!
This was the wall between our kitchen and living room-It's gone
The real Foreman-I liked to say I was the boss but the real answer is, I would have been lost without my Dad there to hold my hand and tell me what to do most of the time!!
 Aunt Steph-She was awesome
One of the new outlets my Dad put in my kitchen for me
Doesn't matter your age around here-everyone helped!!
My girls painting their bedroom pink
one of my many brilliant ideas-to refinish the cupboards
Mom, Michele and Steph painting one of the bathrooms
Kevin stepped in and helped out when my Dad got super sick
Told you that wall was a gonner!!
